Farm Fresh To you Box – 06/04 and a Week in Review
This week, I managed to get all my posts for the week done up by thursday – yay! Except my weekly update, boo! By the time I managed to get the last recipe I was posting for the week up, my brain was mushified and I had to tell myself “Okay – No more blogging for you for atleast a day! Give that brain a chance to heal!” Not that rest could actually cure what ails my brain, (but a personality transplant might…) But then the next day was the big ol’ Marine World trip with Miss Thing and her School, and by the time I got home from that, my body had joined my brain in the mushification, and about 20 minutes after returning home, I could be found passed out on the couch.
Marine world was okay – I was there by myself, effectively – since I didn’t know any of the other parents or teachers who came, and the last thing Miss Thing wanted to do was hang out with mom. But I made the best of it by renting one of those flashpass whojiggers, that allow you to pretty much skip to the front of the line whenever you like. It wasn’t cheap, but atleast I wasn’t stuck standing in line by myself for hours on end. In fact, I’d probably do it again next time – it made for a much more relaxing time at the park. There wasn’t that big push of “hurry up and get to the next ride to wait in line” feeling going on – no “have to squeeze in as many rides as possible!”
Marine World did aggravate me a little bit with one major thing though – Everyone pretty much knows that if you go to an amusement park, you bring sunblock and water bottles – even if you bring nothing else. Which means a backpack, right? If you really want to be prepared, you might bring an extra shirt, for water rides, and maybe some snacks, that sort of thing. Well… Marine World has instituted a No-Bags-On-Most-If-Not-All rides, and they won’t let you leave your bag there on the ride deck, either. They want you to pay $1.00 a pop at the little lockers outside of each ride, or leave it with a non-rider. Considering that I was effectively by myself, and that I had already spent extra money to ride the rides with less hassle, I can assure you, I was NOT a happy camper. So I had a nice little chat with a supervisor, and then we walked down to security where they gave me a Medical Approval sticker for my bag. So folks, you heard it here first – if you want to be able to take your bags with you on the rides, get a medical approval sticker from security on your way in to the park. I’m totally going to do that from now on.
But moving right along – let’s focus on the food, shall we? Here’s what I received and made in the last week:
- 7 Peaches – Snacks, yum!

Because I haven’t really had a chance to cook the last few days, I am going to have to really get busy the next few days to use them up. Of course, I still feel a bit wore out from Marine World, so we’ll see how effective I am. I made a Cherry Pie, yesterday – which I’m going to try and post soon.
